Osteoporotic bone
Illustration of osteoporotic bone. Osteoporosis (brittle bone disease) causes a reduction in overall bone mass and an increase in the bone's porosity, making it more brittle and likely to fracture.
Staphylococcus bacteria in nose
Illustration of staphylococcus bacteria adhering to cilia protruding from nasal epithelial cells. This image was developed from an animation sequence created for our latest promotional reel.
Dendritic cell
Conceptual illustration of a dendritic cell, a type of immune cell. Created for a recent issue of Scientific American Magazine. Since the art would take up an entire two-page spread, the art director wanted the piece to be instantly compelling, visually clean, and to accentuate the branching processes of the cell.
Abbott Oncology booth exhibit artwork
Hybrid was selected by Abbott Laboratories and their agency Vox Medica, Inc. to create large-scale tradeshow booth panel artwork. Here are a few examples on the right. Developed in collaboration with Vox, the 7 panels focused on Abbott’s development of a new cancer-specific, oral selective endothelin-A receptor antagonist. The project was produced and set up in a way that enabled our clients to select specific scenes from the MOA and re-render them for use at ASCO and other shows. The artwork was also eventually integrated into their pre-launch materials.
Abbott Oncology booth exhibit closeup
Hybrid was selected by Abbott Laboratories and their agency Vox Medica, Inc. to create large-scale tradeshow booth panel artwork. This is a close-up look at one of the tradeshow exhibit panels.
NovoSeven® and the NovoSeven® Mechanism of Action
Large-scale illustration created for Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals as part of an in-depth focus on the innovation of NovoSeven® and the NovoSeven® Mechanism of Action. The challenge here: Using one main visual, portray the 3 overlapping phases involved in the cell-based model of hemostasis and the formation of a stable fibrin clot. The scene setting and characters involved in the illustration were developed in such a way that would allow for their easy integration into a 5 ½ minute MOA animation centered on the evolving model of hemostasis and the NovoSeven® mechanism of action.
Nanobodies
Conceptual illustration of “nanobodies” descending onto a cancerous cell. Derived from camels and llamas, nanobodies are the smallest fragments of naturally occurring heavy-chain antibodies and may soon be considered as a whole new class of drugs. Their club-like appendages are radioactive payloads designed to attack specific targets on the cancer cell. Some are seen here attaching to receptors (pits) on the cell, preventing growth signals (orange) from reaching the cell. Created for a recent issue of Scientific American Magazine.
Ribosomes free-floating in cytoplasm of bacterial cell
Illustration of ribosomes - sites of protein synthesis - free-floating inside the cytoplasm of a bacterial cell. In the distance, a region of the cell called the nucleoid can be seen. This illustration was developed from an animation sequence created for our latest promotional reel.
Glial cells
Illustration of glial cells. Opener piece created for recent issue of Scientific American Magazine (written by R. Douglas Fields). Glial cells outnumber neurons nine to one in the brain and there’s mounting evidence to suggest that they may be nearly as critical to thinking and learning as neurons are. The association cortex of Albert Einstein’s brain was found to have a much greater concentration than that found in an average individual.
The Science of Selection sales & marketing kit
Hybrid was selected by Procter & Gamble and their agency Medicus NY to create a series of illustrations for The Science of Selection, an exclusive program comprised of innovative print campaign materials and a DVD presentation uniquely designed to enhance the dental visit from reception, to chair side, to departure. This image is just one example of the multiple illustrations that were created as part of the program. Select the link below to view the Dual Action Whitening MOA - a sequence from the DVD presentation.
Dendreon Corporation print campaign samples
Hybrid was selected by Dendreon Corporation and their agency Euro RSCG Life Central to take selected key characters created for the 2-minute Dendreon MOA animation and prepare them for use in a large print campaign that included large-scale booth display panels, sales brochures, stickers, and even a custom die-cut CD. The Dendreon animation booth was present at the ASCO conference and the sponsoring company distributed the sales brochures and CDs to healthcare professionals.
Bacteriophages targeting E. coli bacteria
Illustration of T4 bacteriophages targeting E. coli bacteria. Bacteriophage are small viruses that infect bacteria and kill them by multiplying and essentially filling the bacterial cell to bursting. This illustration was developed from an animation sequence created for our latest promotional reel.
Eradication of bacterial keratitis
Illustration created as part of an ad campaign designed for a new eye solution designed for the eradication of bacterial keratitis. Important provisions for the illustration were to effectively show successful penetration, concentration, and eradication of the various bacteria.
The inner cell and its organelle system
Conceptual illustration of the inner cell and its organelle system. On the left, the Golgi apparatus -- the site in the cell of synthesis of biochemicals -- is seen here collecting proteins and lipids made by endoplasmic reticulum. At the top of the Golgi, biochemicals are packaged into swellings which become pinched off as vesicles.
Chromosome Telomeres
Illustration of chromosomes and their telomeres - caps that protect the ends of chromosomes.
Medtronic AVE S7 Coronary Stent delivery system
Illustration of the Medtronic AVE S7 Coronary Stent delivery system. The challenge here was to promote the S7’s sophisticated design characteristics, which include a low crossing profile and unmatched scaffolding, the flexibility necessary for tracking through challenging anatomy, and the ability to reach difficult-to-access lesions - all in a very visually clean and simple manner. Created for various promotional and marketing materials.
Innovation of HUMIRA®
Hybrid was selected by Abbott Laboratories and their agency Harrison & Star to create artwork for part of an in-depth focus on the innovation of HUMIRA® (the first fully human monoclonal antibody approved for rheumatoid arthritis) and its advancements being made in the dermatology community. The challenge here: Using one main key visual, portray two key potential treatments for HUMIRA® indications - early RA, and psoriatic arthritis - and feature the monoclonal antibody in the artwork. Hybrid developed the last MOA animation (appx. 4 minutes) and has been selected to produce and develop the new, updated MOA.
Neuron
Illustration of neuron. Created for Georgetown University School of Medicine publication.
Brain and lobes
Illustration of brain and lobes. Self-promotional piece.
